Oral Hygiene and Dental Therapy Qualifications – Dip.OHT (Melb)

Sophie Oostermeyer completed both her dual qualifications of Dental Hygiene in 2004 and Dental Therapy in 2005 at the University of Melbourne. She was also the recipient of the Melbourne University Best Clinical Practice Award. Sophie went on to complete her Graduate Certificate in Dental Therapy - Advanced Clinical Practice at the University of Melbourne in 2019. She has worked in both general, specialist and public practice for 18 years, and worked as a clinical demonstrator at the University of Melbourne Dental Hospital Clinic. Her interests in the specialist fields of both paediatrics (children’s dentistry), periodontics (gum disease) and TMD therapies, along with her views of addressing the body as a whole rather than just the mouth, make her a versatile, gentle, knowledgeable and holistic practitioner.
