ask your dentistHave you ever had a curly question come to mind while you’ve been reclining in the dentist chair? We asked Dr Kia Pajouhesh, Smile Solutions’ Managing Director and Principal Dentist, the top five questions you’ve always wanted to ask.

Can you smell our breath through your mask?

If it’s bad enough, yes we can (sorry!).

Does flossing really make a difference?

Absolutely it does. Flossing is absolutely crucial for healthy teeth and gums and having fresh breath.

Can you tell what we’ve been drinking when you look at our teeth?

Yes, often we can. Sports drinks and fizzy drinks leave their damaging mark in many ways. Tea, coffee and red wine cause staining.

Have you ever gone to bed without brushing?

Once in a long while, only to wake up in the middle of the night with fuzzy teeth, forcing me to get out of bed for a good brushing.

I want to straighten my teeth my I’m a little strapped for cash. What can I do?

People on a budget often op for Invisalign as this costs less than internal braces. The aligners [used to gradually straighten teeth] can be removed for eating, drinking, flossing and brushing, which many see as a benefit.
