Children Orthodontic

Our resident specialist paediatric dentist, Dr Harleen Kumar's greatest passion is managing children and their oral health. Utilising the latest advances in dentistry, including laser, digital x-rays and ozone therapy, and working in conjunction with five experienced therapists, Dr Kumar will be delighted to cater for all your children’s dental needs and requirements.

We advise parents to introduce their child to professional dental care from the age of three. This may include watching a parent have their teeth cleaned, or having their own baby teeth counted and polished with a soft brush. The experience is a positive one and is encouraged with each subsequent appointment.

This process of familiarization allows your child to grow with little or no anxiety towards the benefits of preventative care. Having a bad experience at the dentist at a young age often results in a fear of dental care in later years.

If your child is already anxious, patience, time and the soft approach of our experienced team are the solution. We like to call this our ‘teddy bear therapy’. In certain instances we may recommend sedation or general anaesthetic for the management of special needs or a highly anxious child.
